The U-S State Department says it has received information regarding several possible threats against Americans in Bangladesh and other U-S interests, including the embassy in Dhaka.
The embassy issued a statement Thursday, saying it has tightened security and imposed travel restrictions on diplomats. It also urged American citizens in Bangladesh to remain vigilant in public and avoid demonstrations and large crowds.
U-S officials issued a similar warning last month. But Bangladesh officials dismissed the threats, saying they were taking all possible steps to ensure the safety of foreigners.
