Lawmakers of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party in a meeting of the BNP Parliamentary Party on Sunday demanded that Prime Minister Khaleda Zia downsize the cabinet, and take steps to arrest price spiral of essential commodities and improve law and order.
Khaleda, who presided over the three-hour meeting, asked the BNP lawmakers to work more in their respective constituencies and further strengthen the organisation across the country. She also asked her MPs to regularly attend parliament sessions. The meeting was adjourned until further notice.
