US Ambassador to Bangladesh Harry K Thomas Jr. said war against terrorism is seen as a global war.
The US envoy said the war against terrorism helps protect people in the world that includes the United States, former Soviet Union, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Bangladesh and elsewhere at different times.
He was speaking at an event to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at Dhaka University.
The US ambassador praised Bangladesh's role in peacekeeping and said, "We admire work of international peacekeepers and in particular the important contributions made by Bangladesh."
