The six-member independent inquiry commission of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association today took the statement of opposition leader Sheikh Hasina at her Sudha Sadan residence at Dhanmondi. The Awami League President narrated the incident of August 21 carnage that she survived, but claimed 20 lives, including AL leader Ivy Rahman.
Chairman of the commission Dr Kamal Hossain said they want to publish a proper, independent and neutral report. “In the past, many such bomb blast incidents took place in the country, but probe into those incidents were either not completed or disclosed.”
Earlier, in the morning the probe commission members went to Bangabandhu Avenue and took statement from Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, who was beside Hasina on board the truck at the AL rally that came under grenade attack on August 21.
