Rabindranath Kar , the CPM leader from Purulia in the Indian state of West Bengal and his wife were burnt to death on Saturday night. Maoist militants locked them inside the house, spread kerosine on the house and lit the house. Police think that the action group of Maoist guerillas who had killed another CPM leader Mahendra Mathur , could be behind the killing of Mr Kar. The killers escaped into the nearby state of Jharkhand. The ruling CPM has protested against the murder on Sunday.
