Awami League leader Professor Abu Sayeed, also a former state minister for information, on Friday alleged that the Detective Branch of police had seized copies of his two new books just after the launching.
The books — Oghashito Juddher Blue Print (Blueprint of an undeclared war) and Brutal Crime Documents, a compilation of newspaper reports and articles — were launched through a news briefing at his Dhanmondi residence at noon.
Sayeed said the DB police had raided his house just after the press briefing and had taken away the copies of the books.
‘It is a clear violation of the constitution and of the human rights. The government is trying to stop progressive opinions in a fascist way,’ he said to VOA.
