Music legend and Language Movement veteran Abdul Latif died of old age complications at Suhrawardy Hospital. He was 78.
Abdul Latif was suffering from severe respiratory problems. He actively participated in the1952 Language Movement and wrote many patriotic songs. He was the first composer of the Amar Ekushey song, "Amaar Bhaiyer Rakte Rangano Ekushey February...."
