Leader of the Opposition and Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina yesterday urged all political parties that believe in Bangladesh's sovereignty and independence to fight unitedly to overthrow the BNP-Jamaat-led government. Hasina said while addressing a discussion in the city. "Not only the pro-liberation forces… all parties believing in independence and sovereignty should be united and launch a vigorous movement against the government," she added. The AL organised the discussion to mark the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971. Rashed Khan Menon, president of Workers Party Bangladesh, said the nation is now passing through a critical time, as the defeated forces of the Liberation War are in power and are trying to finish the incomplete work of the Pakistani occupation forces.The AL chief leaves Dhaka for Madrid in Spain on the morning of 7th March to attend an international conference of former heads of state and government.
