The Criminal Investigation Department in Bangladesh on Sunday submitted charge sheet against 10 people, most of them leaders and activists of the ruling BNP and its front organisations, in the murder case of Awami League lawmaker, Shah AMS Kibria, also a former finance minister.
The department, assigned to investigate the case, submitted the charge sheet in Habiganj court, 52 days after the murder. Four others were killed in the grenade attack on an Awami League rally at Baidyer Bazar in Habiganj on January 27. The accused include the district vice president of the ruling BNP.
Kibria’s widow Asma Kibria has, meanwhile, rejected the charge sheet. She termed the investigation ‘incomplete’ and said a charge sheet on the basis of an incomplete investigation is not acceptable.
