China, Pakistan Sign Anti-Terror, Trade Deals


China and Pakistan have signed several trade and economic agreements at the start of the Chinese prime minister's tour of South Asia.

Wen Jiabao and Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz signed more than 20 agreements during their meeting on Tuesday in Islamabad. The agreements included a friendship treaty and a pact to fight terrorism.

Mr. Wen is scheduled to hold private discussions with President Pervez Musharraf Wednesday.

On Wednesday, he will also deliver a keynote address at the meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, a 26-member forum promoting economic cooperation in the region.

Mr. Wen is heading a delegation of some 70 Chinese officials and businessmen. They are scheduled to travel to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India later this week.
