There have been debates and dilemma within the Trinomul Congress whether to form an alliance with Congress during the forth coming Kolkata Corporation election. The Mayor , Subrata Roy is advocating for the alliance but in the meantime the party high command have suspended two law makers from their party who had also voiced for the alliance. However another faction of the Trinomul feels that in order to prevent the leftist from taking power of the Kolkata Corporation ,they should not only form alliance with the Congress but also with BJP.
