Police in Bangladesh say four people have been wounded after unknown assailants hurled at least one home-made bomb at a member of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Police say Mir Mohiuddin and his brother suffered only minor injuries in the attack in the southwestern district of Chuadanga, but that a local journalist is in serious condition.
Local authorities say they were standing near Mr. Mohiuddin's office when the attack occurred.
Police say they do not know who was behind the attack, and that an investigation is under way.
The Associated Press reports an anonymous phone caller claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the outlawed Maoist group Purbo Banglar Communist Party.
