S M Faiz, the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University has blamed the police for playing a very offensive role against students and teachers alike which has deteriorated the situation. He also mentioned an incident where a police sergeant has used abusive words against three teachers of the university. He said he has already complained to the state minister for home affairs and to the inspector general of police. He said that the situation in the university was very unfortunate. He said that negotiations with students groups have already begun.
