Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir, a Presidium member of Awami League and a former state minister for Planning in Bangladesh says that despite the victory of opposition-backed candidate the issue of bringing in reforms in the caretaker government and the election commission in Bangladesh is extremely important. The victory in Chittagong for the opposition was brought under the vigilant eyes of the opposition. But such vigilance will not be possible during general election. In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Dr Alamgir says that Awami League does not want to destabilize the government . All it wants that the future Chief Advisor in the government should be appointed through consensus amongst the government and the main opposition party in Bangladesh.
