The U.S. military says 25 American service members have been killed in Iraq since Monday.
The latest deaths, reported Thursday, included three U.S. soldiers who were killed late Wednesday by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. A U.S. Marine was also killed during combat in Ramadi. Those casualties came the same day that a bomb blast killed 14 U.S. Marines and their civilian translator northwest of Baghdad. Seven other U.S. Marines were killed in that area, near Haditha, this week.
Meanwhile, attacks across Iraq Thursday left at least eight Iraqis dead. Against this bloody backdrop, Iraq's constitutional committee continued working to meet the August 15th deadline for drafting the country's permanent constitution.
