Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says the Islamic republic has no interest in building nuclear bombs, but he says possessing nuclear technology is its legal right. Ayatollah Khamenei made the comments while addressing thousands of worshippers during Friday prayers at Tehran University. He said Western nations are trying to mislead public opinion with accusations that Tehran is seeking to build nuclear weapons. President Bush recently told Israeli television that he would consider using force to press Iran to give up its nuclear program, but only as a last resort. But Nebraska Republican Senator Charles Hagel has dismissed Mr. Bush's talk of a military option against Tehran. He told Reuters news agency the United States loses credibility in the face of the world with comments like that. Mr. Hagel is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
