The 74th birth anniversary of Begum Rokeya, the pioneer of women’s education and women’s freedom ,was observed in Kolkata. The speakers stressed on the point that Begum Rokeya’s teachings are as relevant these days as they were in her own days. The commemorative speech on Mother Rokeya was given by an educationist Lokman Hakim in the Dwarbhanga Hall of Kolkata. The program was organized by Bisshawakosh Parishad whose executive council decided to observe the Birth Centenary of Habibullah Bahar Choudhury from 13th to 15th February 2006 in Kolkata.
