Indian officials say a moderate earthquake has struck the western Gujarat state. The officials say the magnitude 5 point 2 quake was centered northwest of the state's main city, Ahmedabad. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, but the tremor caused panic among residents. More than 20-thousand people were killed when a powerful earthquake hit Gujarat in 2001.
