Bangladesh Protest Water Shortage to India

Officials of Bangladesh Joint Rivers Commission said that it had protested to India about falling water levels in the Ganges River, despite a treaty meant to regulate the downstream flow into the delta nation.

Water is vital for Bangladesh’s agriculture-based economy and has been a key issue between the two nations for decades. Officials said that Bangladesh received the lowest ever water flow in the last 10 days of February.

Zahurul Alam has more on the story.
