Garment Factories Remain Closed After Two Days of Violence


Workers have been demonstrating for higher wages in Bangladesh and have set fire to at least seven factories in an industrial area near Dhaka on the second day of the protest.

Violence escalated, after workers learned about the death of one of the hundred people injured in Monday's clashes.

Meanwhile, after two days of violence in the garment industry near Dhaka, the factories remain closed. Many workers went to the factories in the morning to find the doors closed. Some laborers were in tears and said they did not know who torched the factories.
