A retired civil servant was sworn in as Bangladesh's Chief Election Commissioner in a move aimed at ensuring free, fair and credible elections.
A T M Shamsul Huda took the oath in a ceremony on Monday at the Supreme Court and later told the media that the main objective of the Election Commission "is to hold a peaceful election acceptable to all."
