Police in Bangladesh say one woman was killed and some 50 other people injured in a clash between police and rioting garment factory workers outside Dhaka.
Authorities say police stepped in when factory workers demanding back pay blocked roads and destroyed vehicles in an area north of the capital late Sunday.
Local news reports say the female factory worker who died was shot by police, but one report says authorities deny opening fire on the rioters.
Ready-made clothing is a main export in Bangladesh, which has more than three-thousand garment factories that employ two million workers, most of them women.
