Sheikh Shahidul Islam, the secretary general of a faction of Bangladesh Jatiya Party, says a new political party is expected to be formally launched within 7 to 15 days of the government easing the restrictions on indoor politics.
Several leaders from Bangladesh Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party will be in that party, he adds.
In an interview with VOA’s Dhaka stringer Amir Khasru, he welcomes the political changes in Bangladesh since 11 January 2007 and says that he is trying to bring the like-minded people under a single platform.
He has been receiving good response from the civil society he adds.
As regards having a formal declaration and a constitution for the party, he says, it can not be finalized until the restrictions on the ban on indoor politics is lifted by the government.
