Authorities in Pakistan say they have arrested eight members of an outlawed Islamic militant group in the eastern city of Lahore
Police say the eight were planning to carry out attacks in various places in the Lahore area. They also seized explosives from the group. Authorities say the militants belong to the Jaish-e-Mohammed group.
Pakistan has arrested a large number of suspected al-Qaida members since joining the US-led campaign against terrorism, launched after the 2001 attacks on the United States.
