The BNP secretary general, Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, claimed on Friday that whatever he had done for in-party reforms were in line with the party constitution.
Mannan Bhuiyan, who leads the dissidents in the party, gave a short reaction to Thursday’s comments of party chief, Khaleda Zia, at his house before leaving for mosque to say the jumma prayers.
He said, ‘What we have done for reforms are in keeping with the party constitution. We need to convene a council session for this and we will seek the party chair’s approval for such an event.’
Khaleda on Thursday had said that Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan could not do things in such a manner or the way he wishes. The party has a constitution and it is unconstitutional if things are not done in accordance with constitution.
