The law advisor, Mainul Hossain , on Thursday claimed that the government was in no way involved in the extortion case filed against the Awami League president, Sheikh Hasina, also a former prime minister, now detained in a sub-jail.
Brushing aside the allegation that the interim government has had hands in the case filed against Hasina, Mainul said this government did not interfere in who would be sued.
He, however, said cases would be filed against anyone if evidence of corruption and irregularities was found. ‘The government has always wanted to stay above political controversies and set a new trend.’
