Political reforms in Bangladesh is a widely discussed topic and Dr Osman Farruk , a BNP Leader and former education minister of Bangladesh favors political reforms within the party in the light of recent experiences over the last at least a decade and a half in the political arena .
In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service , Osman Farruk says that political reforms have to brought in to make them consistent with the regulations of the Election Commission and to bring in changes in the party constitution . Farruk also said that one important matter is the financing of the political parties which has still remained largely undefined.
Although he supported the move by the caretaker government against corruption, he added that the move must be transparent and must be made sustainable. In answer to another question, Osman Farruk said that the two leaders of BNP and Awami League have had tremendous influence over the party but their future depends on two factors . First whether the cases against them gain merit or not and secondly whether they themselves accommodate to the idea of reforms
