Many people including a policeman, were injured when activists of the outfits backed by Communist Party of India-Marxists (CPI-M) and Trinamool Congress clashed in Nandigram in West Bengal on Monday.
Trinamool Congress backed activist were protesting against the acquisition of farmland.
A policeman suffered bullet wounds in the clashes that were continuing since Sunday at Ranichak and Hatengabari in Nandigram. The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
On Sunday, a woman was killed and two others were seriously injured as fresh violence erupted in Nandigram.
