Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina was not able to appear before the Special Judges' Court as scheduled on Wednesday. The Special Judges' Court is set up on the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises.
Sheikh Hasina remained unwell after falling sick the previous day. The corruption case against Hasina involves illegally awarded contracts to set up barge mounted power plants.
The defense asked the court to release Sheikh Hasina on bail since she is suffering from a number of medical complications including headaches, eye ailments and high blood pressure. The prosecutors argued against such a course of action.
The court will continue hearing of the case on Feb 19.
