Shimul Saha is one of the Bengali young professionals who were born in Bangladesh but did their higher studies in the USA and in 2005 initiated an organization named Ekattorer Golpo. In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service,
Shimul talks about the objectives of Ekattorer Golpo. She says that they want to organize at least one program every year through which they would be able to uphold the culture and heritage , history and aspirations of Bangladesh. She says that all the universities in Washington DC, Maryland and Virgina as well as Bangla School actively participate in the program.
Shimul Saha adds that as the post ’71 generation of Bangladeshis living abroad they will like to make an optimum use of the imaginative powers of these young professionals. She regrets to find that some people amongst the younger generation does not recognize the fact that they owe a lot to the War of Liberation and that is why Ekattorer Golpo is trying to bring in that awareness amongst the younger generation through tales of ’71 which are unforgettable facts for future.
