Bangladeshi Advisers Meet Awami League Leaders Before Official Dialogue


Five advisers of Bangladesh caretaker government met with seven Awami League leaders during a second round of unofficial talk between Awami League and the advisers in Dhaka.

The Awami League leaders placed before the caretaker government a five-point demand including release of its chief Sheikh Hasina, measures for her treatment abroad and a specific date for the ninth parliamentary polls.

At a press briefing after the meeting, Awami League acting General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam said that they also demanded that the national election should be held by the end of the year, price hikes of essentials should be curbed, the state of emergency should be lifted, and there should be trials of war criminals.
