Major political parties including Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have rejected the demarcation of the constituencies for the parliamentary elections calling it an impediment to holding a free and fair election.
Tofail Ahmed, a prominent Awami League Presidium member calls it an unrealistic demarcation . He said that a major reshuffle of the boundaries of 134 constituencies only a few months before the election can not be realistic.
The Secretary General of BNP (pro-Khaleda) , Khandakar Delwar Hossain has raised a question about the motive of the election commission. He thinks that this late action is either disrupt and delay the election or not to hold election at all.
