A two-day 11th North America Nazrul Conference was held in Maryland near Washington DC during the Memorial Day weekend . Participants from all over North America paid their glorious tributes to Kazi Nazrul Islam through seminar, discussions, recitals, songs, dances and several composite cultural performances.
The speakers in the Seminar talked about the multi – dimensional aspect of Nazrul’s works emphasizing that Nazrul Islam’s work should be studied in its totality. Nazrul was above any partisanship and did not believe in any national or communal differences.
This poet of humanity was celebrated through the performances by artists from Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Canada. Besides two very prominent cultural groups, Dhroopod from Washington, DC and Shoukhin from New Jersey presented very attractive programs.
