Bangladesh, India to Begin Four Day Talks in Kolkata


The border security forces of Bangladesh and India will begin a four-day negotiation in Kolkata on Monday.

During the deputy director general (DDG) level meet between BDR and BSF, the participants are expected to discuss the issue of recent killings at the borders.

Other bilateral issues that will be discussed include cross-border drug trafficking and security.

BDR DDG Brigadier General MA Bari will lead the 12-member Bangladeshi delegation and Inspector General of BSF's North Bengal Frontier SCV Murali will lead the Indian 16-member team.

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Touhid Hossain after his return from New Delhi said that during his meeting in New Delhi he raised with his Indian counterpart the killings of 73 Bangladeshis by BSF this year.
