Iraqi police say at least six people have been killed by a car bomb explosion in
the northwestern town of Tal Afar.
Authorities say at least 20
others were wounded in Saturday's attack.
Separately, on
Friday police said a suicide car bomber had attacked the convoy of Iraqi Shi'ite
politician Ahmad Chalabi. Chalabi was not harmed, but the attack killed two
people and wounded 17 others, including five of Chalabi's bodyguards.
The
motorcade was heading to Chalabi's office in western Baghdad. There are
conflicting accounts whether he was in the convoy.
Chalabi, a secular
Shi'ite, was a Pentagon favorite and advisor to Washington before the U.S.-led
invasion of Iraq in 2003.
