Awami League (AL) on Saturday finalized party's
manifesto or platform, which will formally be announced by the party chief Sheikh Hasina on
December 12 at a local five star hotel in the capital.
The party has put top
most priority on ensuring food security, raising the capacity of producing
electricity, containing the spiral of price of daily essentials, curbing
corruption, tough action against militancy, establishing the country as secular
state and establishing rules of law in the country.
Awami League Central
Working Committee (ALCWC) on Saturday gave the final approval after a two-day
hectic meeting at the party's Dhanmondi Office chaired by Sheikh Hasina.
In the manifesto the
party also pledged free education up to graduation level.
After the meeting, AL
presidium member Amir Hossain Amu told reporters that the electoral manifesto
of the party ahead of the parliamentary election scheduled for December 29, has
been finally approved. About the manifesto, another presidium member Sheikh
Fazlul Karim Selim mentioned promises to cut prices of commodities, drives
against corruption and militants and promote the secularism.
