Bangladesh Awami League led Grand Alliance Heads towards a Landslide Victory  


In elections for the ninth parliament of Bangladesh Awami League led Grand Alliance has won a landslide victory . In the latest election update Awami League and its Alliance have won 252 seats in the parliament. Its rival BNP led four party alliance won 32 seats and others have won 5 seats. Of the 299 seats for which election was held on December 29,Awami League led Grand Alliancehaswonthemajorityseats. One hundred and fifty one seats are needed to form the government.

Neither Sheikh Hasina , the leader of Awami League and the Grand Alliance nor Khaleda Zia , the leader of the four party alliancehas made any comments on election result yet but earlier Hasina had said to accept the result whatever it might be while Khaleda claimed that if that election was fair they would win . Khaleda Zia also complained of some inappropriacy in the election
