Dr Abdun Noor is a writer and a consultant of the World Bank projects relating essentially to agriculture, education and development. Although now retired Dr Noor still works part time for the World Bank’s training programs. His Bicholito Shomoy is a masterpiece novel , a juxtaposition of history and fiction in an artistic disposition . Dr Noor is planning to write something centering around the War of Liberation of Bangladesh.
While talking about the recently held parliamentary election in Bangladesh where Awami League led Grand Alliance won the election with overwhelming majority , Dr Noor says that it restores the basic right to speak up , to express oneself . He feels that this right of expressing oneself is the democratic right of people. That right has been exercised and expressed through the election on December 29.
In answer to a question, Dr Noor says that there are similarities between US election and Bangladesh election to some extent , particularly if one takes the first time voter into consideration . The young voters have been given special attention in both elections.
Awami League, in its election program has brought in vision 2021 which encourages the youth in Bangladesh to look forward to a promising future while recalling and respecting a glorious past.
