In an interview with Voice of America’s Bangla Service, Dr. Hasan Imam, former economist from World Bank and former Special Advisor on Public Finance, Republic of Namibia spoke about the Stimulus Plan. He believes the Plan will help to stimulate the economy, help reduce unemployment and help to improve the infrastructure in USA.
Dr. Imam also thinks that although foreclosure crisis may not be completely solved by this plan, however, many of those who have been affected by the foreclosure crisis will be helped.
Dr. Hasan Imam studied at London School of Economics and University of Manchester. Dr. Imam, before joining the World Bank in 1975 was the Chief of International Trade Division at the Bangladesh Planning Commission. Dr. Imam, a Fellow of University of Oxford also taught economics at University of Wales.
