Maleka Begum is the Associate Professor of Women and Gender Studies in the University of Dhaka. She was also the founder secretary of Mahila Parishad, the largest women's lib organization in Bangladesh. She is doing a post doctoral work on women family law in the Women Study Department at the University of Calcutta.
Maleka Begum was in New York recently to attend UN Conference on Women’s Day.
