The Home Secretary of West Bengal Ardhendu Sen held a meeting with high officials of police at Lalbazar , in Kolkata to assure a complete security against any attacks by the militants. They have decided to build up a security cordon around all important places in Kolkata.
Besides in the wake of Maoist attacks during the first phase of polling on April 16, West Bengal on Friday announced measures to step up security and provide additional protection for polling personnel in the sensitive areas in the Maoist belt. Aerial surveillance is planned.
