In an exclusive interview with Voice of America, Iftikharul Karim talked about the policy of the new US administration , the release of two US journalists in North Korea and expressed his hope that this dramatic event will help ease tension between North Korea and the Western world.
He also commented on the upcoming elections in Afghanistan and said winning over Talibans will be the right strategy for the US.
Ambassador Karim who lived in the US first as a Fulbright scholar in 1970’s) and later on as a diplomat ( during 1990’s) also commented on the changes that he has seen in the US. He said that President Obama inspired the youth in this country and his election has a very positive impact not only in the US but also in the rest of the world.
