In an interview with Voice of America, Dr Kamal Hossain, a prominent jurist, former Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and a UN Human Rights special Rapporteur in Afghanistan, expressed hope that with Obama administration the focus that is being paid towards Afghanistan, not only in combat operations but also in humanitarian and infra-structural assistance will bring in promising future in view of the fact that Afghanistan is moving a step ahead through this democratic elections.
Dr Hossain thinks that with the development of democratic institutions, infra structures and security measures things are likely to improve after election.
He also expects that Talibans will be marginalized after a democratically elected government brings in the changes.
