Russia to Build India’s first Nuclear Power Plant in West Bengal

Russia’s state-owned Atomstroyexport will build India’s first nuclear power plant in Bengal. The Nuclear Power Corporation hopes construction activities will begin by 2010.

The government had announced that Russia would help build a nuclear power station at Haripur, while US companies would be involved in nuclear plants at new sites in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.
