Prime
minister Sheikh Hasina returned home yesterday afternoon from Copenhagen after
attending the UN Climate Change Conference in the Danish capital.
Her senior colleagues in the cabinet and in the parliament, foreign diplomats
and high civil and military officials received the prime minister at the
airport. An Emirates Airlines aircraft carrying the prime minister reached the
airport at 4:30pm.
Hasina left Dhaka on December 14 to join the climate conference, which
concluded on December 18 and was attended by 130 heads of state and government.
Health minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, state minister for forests and environment
Dr Hasan Mahmud, ambassador-at-large M Ziauddin and others, excepting for
foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni, who accompanied the prime minister in the
climate conference, also returned home. Dipu Moni went to Mauritius from Copenhagen.
