At least 10 people were injured in a clash between activists of Parbatya Bangalee Chhatra Parishad (PBCP) and indigenous people of Rangamati at Baghaichari upazila headquarters on Sunday morning.
Locals and police said the PBCP activists were going to Khagrachhari from Baghaichhari upazila headquarters in buses to attend a party conference.
When they reached Noymile area under Bagaichhari upazila they were obstructed by Sajek Nari Somaj (SNS), a body of indigenous women, who blocked Dighinala-Baghaichhgari and Baghaichhari-Sajek roads demanding return of lands of the indigenous people, allegedly grabbed by the settlers.
The PBCP activists returned to Baghaichhari upzila headquarters and attacked the indigenous people.
