The government of West Bengal removed 5 camps located in unsafe areas after the recent attack by the Maoists on a Bengal police camp leaving 24 dead.
Police have been authorized to open fire on Maoists without being attacked first because they believe that Maoists are ruthless and cannot be tackled without aggressive force. Meanwhile, after the state cabinet meeting at the Writer’s Building, Dr. Asim Dasgupta, the Finance Minister of West Bengal administration will form a special force to resist Maoist activities.
