At least two indigenous persons were killed and seven injured, including an army man, as the security forces opened fire on feuding indigenous people and Bengali settlers in remote Gongaram Mukh area of Baghaichhari upazila in Rangamati on Saturday.
Earlier on Friday night a group of the settlers in the Gongaram Mukh area attacked the indigenous people there over a land dispute.
The settlers set fire to 40 houses of indigenous families Friday night and another 160 more Saturday morning.
