On Sunday night, a leader of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) was shot dead by its rival organization – United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) – in Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati in Bangladesh.
He was identified as Usinu Marma. His body was taken to Chittagong Medical Hospital and later sent to Rangamati General Hospital for an autopsy. This is a result of two tribal political organizations fighting each other for control in Chittagong Hill tracks.
On Saturday, six PCJSS members were also killed in an ambush in Rangamati. PCJSS supports the Chittagong Hill Tracts peace treaty.
