Police in India say a bomb has exploded in the western city of Bombay (also known as Mumbai),injuring at least 12 people.
The French News Agency says four of the injured are in critical condition.
Officials say the bomb was tied to a bicycle parked in a crowded market in the Vile Parle neighborhood when it went off.
Bombay's Police Commissioner (Ranjit Sharma) said the bomb was a low-intensity crude explosive. He said most of the injuries were caused by shrapnel.
There has been no immediate claims of responsibility for the blast. Police say they have tightened security around the city.
